RTÉ Media Sales – Digital, in collaboration with ICAN has launched an innovative campaign for the launch of the RTÉ Player Autumn Schedule – via a Rich Media HTML5 Homepage Takeover today on RTÉ.ie and high-impact awareness advertising across key networks, supported by bespoke editorial packages, social and email content marketing.
The concept for the campaign originated in RTÉ’s digital division and the build was completed by ICAN. The campaign showcases the best of the new season on RTÉ Player and builds on the momentum from the recent RTÉ Television new season campaign.
Commenting on the campaign, David Fogarty, Commercial Coordinator, RTÉ Media Sales – Digital said, “Built in HTML5 this complex interactive skin is a first for RTÉ.ie containing auto-play video throughout. The user is presented with 3 video options to play a short teaser of the programme of their choice. Once fully animated, the user can engage further by selecting specific video content and viewing the programme of choice directly on the RTÉ Player platform”
With big titles including a brand new chat show with Ray D’Arcy. A new four-part drama, Clean Break, and The Couch, a brand new six-part series, exclusive to RTÉ Player, hosted by Yvonne Tiernan.
Plus get ready to binge on a number of exclusive boxsets as well as a host of extras available this season on RTÉ Player, Ireland’s most popular VOD service.
Ray D’Arcy marks his return to RTÉ television with a new prime-time Saturday night chat-show, available to watch live and on-demand. The Ray D’Arcy Show promises to be a lively mix of chat, comedy and music, Irish and international celebrity guests alongside guests from all walks of Irish life making unmissable TV that gets people talking.
New drama Clean Break. This exciting new four-part drama from the makers of Love/Hate and written by acclaimed playwright Billy Roche, stars Adam Fergus as Frank, a car dealer running out of fiscal rope whose attempt at staging a tiger raid on the local bank goes badly wrong.
Exclusive to RTÉ Player, ‘The Couch’ begins on October 12th. New talent Yvonne Tiernan brings a refreshing approach to the weekly conversation series that captures women’s ability to engage in an open exchange of stories, intimacies, life lessons and wisdom. Surprisingly frank and honest, each episode deals with the universal themes of life with well-known Irish and international women, all of whom reveal secrets and truths throughout this six-part RTÉ Player series.
A new programme will be made available on demand each Monday for the following five weeks as part of ‘The Couch’ series collection. ‘The Couch’ is Produced by David Power and directed by Anna Rodgers with Yvonne Tiernan as Executive Producer.
The series was commissioned by Eddie Doyle, Head of Comedy, Music and New Talent, RTÉ TV who said, “Yvonne has created an extraordinarily warm and intimate series. Each of the interviewees tell us something new and important about themselves, and about life for women today. It’s very exciting to be able to bring new, high calibre talent to the public in such an innovative way.”
