RTÉ, together with DCU’s Alpha Innovation Campus and Frontline Ventures, have partnered with Dublin Airport to support a three-day Hackathon event taking place at DCU from Friday, 15th April to Sunday, 17th April.
The event will see entrepreneurs, innovators, engineers, designers and Dublin airport customers combine ideas and skills to design hardware, software and service solutions and improvements to radically enhance the customer experience at Dublin Airport.
Between 150 and 200 hackers are expected to take part in the three day Hackathon with the overall winning solution winning a cash prize of €7,000, and the runner up receiving €3,000.
Aidan McCullen, Head of Innovation Partnerships & Funding, RTÉ, said “RTÉ, like Dublin Airport, is focused on innovating for the future and harnessing the best in new technologies to continuously evolve our offering. RTÉ is opening up innovation to the public and the startup community to co-create our future. We are also collaborating with the DAA to integrate RTÉ’s content offering in the Dublin airport experience and with these shared synergies, we are supporting the DAA Hackathon event as media partner in addition to providing mentorship and a team from RTÉ’s digital division participating in the hackathon weekend.”
