The people have spoken…Ireland’s best chicken wings have been found!
Ireland’s obsession with eating out knows no bounds and to feed this food obsession, RTÉ Player has dedicated a new show to finding the best grub in Ireland and showing you how to make it. The first episode of Chef Adrian Eats Ireland , a brand new online exclusive show on RTÉ Player, stars the up and coming talent Adrian Martin and one of the nation’s biggest food obsessions, chicken wings…mmmm.
Chef Adrian Eats Ireland brings together three of his great loves; food, fun and Ireland. In this new online show, Adrian searches for the best places to find the food he loves, visits the restaurant to get the inside track and then shows you how to make his own version on his BBQ Balcony.
Episode one (the pilot) sees Adrian on the hunt for the best chicken wings in Ireland. He asked his fans to nominate their favourite place for chicken wings…and they responded in their droves. While the competition was stiff, Dublin came out as the winner with the top three restaurants named as Elephant & Castle in Temple Bar, Blue Bar in Skerries and Tribeca in Ranelagh.
Serving up chicken wings for twenty seven years, Elephant & Castle is Ireland’s original home of the mighty basket of chicken wings. In the show, Chef Adrian meets head chef Sinead to get the inside track on what makes Elephant & Castle’s chicken wings the tastiest around. They serve up over 200 kilos of chicken wings a day and Sinead dishes the gossip on some famous fans including Eva Longoria, Keith Duffy and Colin Farrell, who used to work there.
Then it’s off to the BBQ Balcony where Chef Adrian is joined by guest Keith Walsh from 2FM’s Breakfast Republic, a self confessed lover of chicken wings. Adrian helped by Keith shows the hungry crowd how to make his own version of Elephant & Castle’s infamous chicken wings. But watch out for the controversy, because Chef Adrian shuns the classic blue cheese dip for his own roasted garlic and chive dip.
