Made by RTÉ’s TV Documentary Unit and directed by David Whelan, Welcome to Adamstown follows Sinéad Kennedy as she meets some of the neighbours living in the multicultural town of Adamstown, Co Dublin.
What is noticeably different about Adamstown compared to other towns in Ireland is that approx 70% of the people are born to non Irish parents, mostly Indian, Pakistani, African, Filipino and Eastern European. The homes in Adamstown are built around communal green spaces where children play and parents meet. In this programme Sinéad talks to some the residents to find out what attracted them to Adamstown and what the advantages are of living in a culturally diverse town in Ireland.
